Setting your TV or cable/satellite remote control to work with Polk soundbar

How can I make my TV (or cable/satellite) remote control work with my Polk soundbar?
Follow the procedure for the type of connection you're using.
  • My Bar is connected with HDMI
  • My TV is connected using an OPTICAL cable.
  • My TV’s brand or its remote is still not controlling the bar.

The Bar is connected with HDMI

1. - When your Polk sound bar is connected with HDMI, make sure that your TV’s CEC function is turned ON in its settings menu. CEC allows your TV to control devices (such as sound bars or source components) without any additional programming.

2. - Just turn on CEC in your TV, and the TV should recognize your Polk sound bar instantaneously. NOTE: Depending on the brand of TV, CEC may be called something different. See the table below for common CEC names. Your TV’s manual should explain how to enable this feature.
